Hail damage may not be immediately apparent
Hail damage to composition shingles may not be immediately apparent, but may become visible after the winter months have passed because the freeze / thaw cycles of winter will often cause granules to release from hail impacted areas on the surface of the shingle. If you suspect your roof has hail damage, but inspection does not reveal much if any damage, you may consider re-assessing the damage after the winter season has lapsed.
