Beware of gutter protection
Before choosing to have gutter protection installed on your gutters, please be forewarned that many types of gutter protection have a flange which extends up onto the roof and those types of gutter protection systems are very often installed incorrectly. Properly installed, the flange should be fastened directly to the roof decking beneath the roofing materials along the bottom of the roof, but more often than not we find the flange is fastened to the roofing materials, between the starter course and the 1st course of shingles. When gutter protection is fastened to the "roof" and not the "roof deck", it must later be detached from the roof when its time to replace your roof. As you might expect, detaching gutter protection from the roof and re-attaching the gutter protection is no small project & will add significantly to the cost of replacing your roof. So, now that you are aware this problem is fairly common and that it could cost you dearly, I hope you will take the necessary precautions to avoid having to pay your roofer extra due to an improperly installed gutter protection system.
